Energy Ventures Analysis Inc. (EVA), a Forbes-recognized top energy management consulting firm, is seeking a Summer 2025 Energy Market Analyst Intern to support our team in Tysons, Virginia. This internship offers hands-on experience in energy market analysis and a potential pathway to a full-time role.

Internship Overview:

As an Energy Market Analyst Intern, you will work closely with our consultants and analysts to conduct research, assist with modeling, and support energy market forecasts. This is a primarily in-person internship with flexibility for hybrid work, and successful interns may be considered for full-time positions post-completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the updating, maintaining, and improving EVA’s internal energy market models and databases.
  • Conduct research and data analysis on energy commodities, supply-demand balances, and pricing trends.
  • Assist in preparing forecasts and market outlook reports for clients.
  • Work with consultants to develop and refine new analytical publications and reports.
  • Collaborate with team members on consulting projects and energy sector studies.
  • Present findings in reports, visualizations, and internal discussions.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, business, finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, energy studies, or a related field.
  • Expected graduation in 2025 or 2026 (or earlier).
  • Strong analytical skills with a background in data analysis or quantitative methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to work with large datasets.
  • Understanding of statistical methods and energy market fundamentals (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Experience using AI/LLM tools (e.g., OpenAI’s ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Google Gemini, etc.) in a professional or academic setting to assist with:
    • Coding and automation of analytical tasks
    • Data extraction, synthesis, and reporting
    • Enhancing efficiency in energy modeling and forecasting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • EVA will not be sponsoring a work visa for this internship and the subsequent potential full-time position. Preference will be given to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Internship Details & Benefits:

  • Duration: full-time (40 hours per week) for 10–12 weeks (Summer 2025), depending on start date.
  • Location: Tysons, VA (Hybrid: mix of in-office and remote work).
  • Compensation: Competitive hourly wage, depending on qualifications and prior experience ($25-$40 per hour).
