Mr. Benítez joined Energy Ventures Analysis in 2016 as an expert on long term energy-economic modeling and energy policy. Mr. Benítez previously worked at U.S. Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory, where he worked in policy analysis using the National Energy Modeling System (NEMS), managed the integration of the CO2 Capture, Transportation, Utilization, and Sequestration NEMS sub-model, and developed CO2 Enhanced Oil Recovery assessment tools. Mr. Benítez also participated as a technical expert in the U.S. DOE – White House Task Force on Puerto Rico. Mr. Benítez previously worked at the Puerto Rico Energy Office, where he developed rules and regulations covering renewable energy installations, briefed elected officials on energy policy options, and was a main contributor in the development of building energy codes.
Mr. Benítez is licensed as a Professional Engineer in the U.S. Territory of Puerto Rico, and as an attorney in Pennsylvania.
